HER Body™ #11 | Lucy Hendricks – Restorative Breathing

What is restorative breathing and why is it important?

In episode 11 of HER Body™, Alex and AJ invite Lucy Hendricks on to speak about restorative breathing. She explains how your breathing can hinder progress in your performance. She also shares the importance of breathing exercises and bracing when it comes to training.

Lucy shares what happens when clients come into the gym and are not in the mindset to train due to stress or anxiety. She shows how she helps her clients to realize that more is not better.

Lucy Hendricks is a graduate of the Lexington Healing Arts Academy Personal Training program and a current Student Massage Therapist. She has her FMS certification and is also a certified Restorative Breathing Coach. She is a bright, young coach who, at the age of 24, has already had the opportunity to study underneath great coaches and physical therapists like Jim Laird, Sarah Martin, Lois Laynee, Mike Robertson and Bill Hartman.

Lucy’s journey into training and her passion for helping clients started with an internship with Jim Laird five years ago, and she hasn’t looked back since. For the last four years, she’s been an integral part of the GYM Laird Strength and Conditioning, working with hundreds of clients each week, making a huge impact in all of their lives. She has also spent the last two years speaking at different seminars, teaching other trainers how to educate their clients when it comes to taking care of themselves outside of the gym, especially their breathing! Most people have the motivation to train, but getting them to work on the other aspects of their life can be a challenge.
